yes, installing the zips from the extracted paren archive is the way to go (not by installing the free cartflows from wordpress or updating it from wordpress automatically! must not do this).
but if you're referring to the guy above with the pclzip issues, this method will install for him only if he manually extracts the zips, and copy their folders to the plugins directory in wordpress, setting correct permissions and ownerships.
BUT , it is not fixing a serious issue and for sure something else will break if he ignores the problem.
