My thoughts & suggestions:

1. Hard to read text (DM Serif) in listing pages, especially "read more" buttons, breadcrumbs, tags, sidebar-dates, etc...increase the kerning/tracking and/or font-size
2. Menu font size could be a tad bigger
3. Check Pagespeed Insights and try to get better score in case you care about organic placement
3. More subcategories based on article-content/tags etc..Main categories appear like buckets filled with endless number of articles. Sort by date or tags or whatever for the lazy readers..
4. AJAX Search bar would be better than the standard one
