I'm using v2.3 and getting the same error on Update page. Maybe it requires to update to 2.4 first and then to 2.5? Please let me know if you can figure it out, thanks!

quick and dirty, open file /var/www/html/application/libraries/Bitflan_installer/Bitflan_installer.php
goto line 38 and change
'web-server' => ($srv && ( strpos($srv, 'apache') !== false || strpos($srv, 'litespeed') !== false )),
to
'web-server' => ($srv && ( strpos($srv, 'nginx') !== false || strpos($srv, 'litespeed') !== false )),

or write between line 36 and 37
$srv = 'apache';
