What are the changes happens when we Install a Plugins or Theme and we changes settings on those plugins and themes?

When we Install a Theme or plugin and make changes on various settings, where are the changes happens?

1. Where we can see the changed DB tales?
2. Which php files?

Is there any way to view latest changed Files and DB? I am asking this because I used Migrate DB Pro but unfortunately I lost all latest User data on my Live Buddypress site.

Most(all?) of them should have this option. For sure Microsoft Visual Studio has it, but it's a more complex and heavy tool.
